WWE Feels Change In NXT Takeover Date Will Better Serve Fans

Earlier today Wrestlemania Travel Package buyers received an e-mail stating that NXT Takeover: New York will no longer take place on Saturday April 6th, and has been moved a day early to Friday April 5th.

The event no longer competes with ROH / NJPW G1 Supercard event at Madison Square Garden. The WWE has released a comment on the change via The Wrestling Observer

“WWE will be going back to its previous WrestleMania Week schedule with NXT TakeOver on Friday, April 5 and the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, April 6. We believe this better serves our fans.”

The current Wrestlemania 35 schedule is as follows

  • 4/5 – Wrestlemania Axxess
  • 4/5 – NXT Takeover: New York
  • 4/6 – WWE Hall Of Fame
  • 4/6 – Wrestlemania 35
  • 4/8 – Monday Night RAW
  • 4/8 – Smackdown LIVE
