AWA Legend Larry “The Axe” Hennig Passes Away

Another wrestling legend has passed away. Today, family members have confirmed that Larry “The Axe” Hennig has passed away at the age of 82.

Hennig is the father of the late Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig, as well as the grandfather of WWE Superstar Curtis Axel.

Larry entered the professional wrestling landscape in the ’60s, after being trained by Verne Gagne in Minnesota. Hennig went on to be a mainstay in the midwest holding the AWA Tag Team and Midwest Tag Team Titles multiple times.
