WWE Continues To Seek New Talent To Sign Deals In 2019

New Japan Pro Wrestling star Kushida is another name on WWE’s radar. The current IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion is is a name that has been talked about within WWE circles over the last few weeks according to a report from Dave Meltzer. The WWE would bring him into the NXT brand if he were to sign with the company.

Kushida is currently under contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling until the end of January, but the WWE doesn’t seem to have an issue in seeking him. The WWE has been accused multiple times of contract tampering, and according to Meltzer, it seems that they seemingly don’t care if they go after stars in Japan.

He’s under contract to New Japan until the end of January so we shouldn’t be hearing his name, but WWE has been more forward about trying to get people and not caring about contracts. Basically the feeling is that nobody with the possible exception of Sinclair, and MLW, would take any action against them, and for NJPW, it’s a difficult process based in Japan, but that’s not saying what NJPW would or wouldn’t do.

Kushida is defending his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom on 1/4 against Taiji Ishimori.
