News broke yesterday that The Revival asked for the WWE release. The story which originally broken by Bodyslam.net stated that Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson wanted to be released from their WWE contract.

Fightful.com stated that WWE officials were fearful of the duo being finished with the company after a situation which unfolded on RAW.

Dave Meltzer notes in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer newsletter that after their match against Lucha House Party this past Monday on RAW, the group asked for their release, while still in ring gear.

As of yesterday, no release has been granted, and the word from backstage is that nobody is getting their release right now, due to obvious reasons.

Mike and Maria Kanellis also asked for their release yesterday according to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet. It is unknown whether it will be granted, or if the WWE will continue to keep them signed with fears they will go to another promotion.
