Two Members Of NXT Roster Gone

Word came today that the WWE two members of the NXT roster are gone from the company.

Casey from Squared Circle Sirens is reporting that Nick Miller from The Mighty has been released, and developmental star Taishan Dong has quit the company.

Nick Miller joined the company in February 2016 alongside his partner Shane Throne. The duo were known as TM-61, and later The Mighty. Taishan Dong was signed this past July, and has been training at the WWE Performance Center.

Dong was a Chinese national who had a professional boxing career prior to signing with the WWE. He was signed to Oscar De La Hoya’s “Golden Boy Promotions”, and was known as the “Yao Ming of Boxing” due to his height.

No word on why Dong has left the company.

Nick Miller’s profile has been removed from the WWE.com website, yet Shane Throne’s profile is still there. No word if Shane Thorne will have a singles run.

The Australian duo had runs in Pro Wrestling NOAH, as well as a brief stint with New Japan Pro Wrestling. In June 2015, they took part in a WWE training camp, and were signed in February 2016 following their Pro Wrestling NOAH farewell tour. They were billed as TM-61, which was derived from Throne and Miller, and 61 came from Australia’s dial code +61. The duo debuted on May 25th, losing to DIY on NXT TV.

The duo were off TV for several months due to a knee injury Shane Thorne suffering a knee injury, which was later operated on. The team returned to television in January of 2018, and were later renamed The Mighty. The duo’s last match as a team was at the 11/28 NXT TV tapings against Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan, which aired on 12/12.

The WWE has yet to publicly announce any roster cuts. This is a developing story, and when more details are known, it will be reported.
