Major League Wrestling Signs Davey Boy Smith Jr, Files Trademark For Hart Foundation Name
MLW Signs Davey Boy Smith Jr. To Multi-Year Deal
Major League Wrestling announced today that Davey Boy Smith Jr has signed a deal with the company. Smith Jr. is the son of the late great British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith.
Smith Jr. has signed a multi-year deal with the company, and joins fellow Hart Foundation members Teddy Hart and Brian Pillman Jr who both signed MLW deals in 2018.
Davey Boy Smith Jr. will also continue to work with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
MLW recently filed a trademark for the use of the name Hart Foundation, which was previously owned by WWE. The WWE previously owned trademarks for both “Hart Foundation” and “The Hart Foundation”, which expired in 1999 and 2002.
The trademark used for clothing use was cancelled less than a week after the death of Owen Hart.
MLW’s filed a trademark for “Hart Foundation” on December 19th, 2018. The company has been using the name on TV, and the WWE has yet to oppose the filing.
