WWE’s Ownership Of Cody Rhodes Name Coming To An End

The WWE’s trademark on the name Cody Rhodes is set to expire this fall. The WWE received a courtesy letter from the United States Trademark Office this past October giving them the option to renew.

The trademark expires on October 13th, 2019, and the WWE has until October 15th, 2019 to file renewal on the name. Cody has stated last September that he is able to use the name, but said he will not in the foreseeable future.

The trademark that the WWE owns is for the following

Entertainment services, namely, performing in wrestling exhibitions and live performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network

If the WWE does not renew the trademark, Cody can file ownership on his own if he chooses to.
