Chris Jericho appeared at All Elite Wrestling’s ‘Double or Nothing’ rally, and announced he has joined the company.

AEW uploaded a video of Jericho alongside company President Tony Khan signing his contract.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Jericho had been in talks with the WWE prior to Wrestle Kingdom 13. It’s unknown whether the WWE was attempting to book him for the Royal Rumble, but there was talks.

Jericho’s photo was removed from WWE’s opening credits yesterday and replaced with The Bar. He has also been moved to the alumni section of WWE.com. He was previously listed as part of the roster up until yesterday.

Dave Meltzer also noted that New Japan Pro Wrestling is still interested in having Chris Jericho work events, and the tease for a possible match with Tanahashi was built following Wrestle Kingdom 13. Jericho is open to continuing to work with New Japan if an agreement can be done.

Jericho’s deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling ended at Wrestle Kingdom 13. He has signed short term deals in the past that included limited appearances building up to his matches.

At this point in time All Elite Wrestling does not have any working relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling, but that may change with the addition of Chris Jericho, and the possible addition of Kenny Omega once his contract expires.
