WWE Hall of Famer Pedro Morales has died at the age of 76. Former WWE announcer Hugo Savinovich confirmed the news via Lucha Libre Online this afternoon.

Morales was the first-ever WWE “Triple Crown” Champion winning the WWWF Heavyweight Championship and United States Championship. During his second run in the WWF he held the Intercontinenal Championship and Tag Team Championship alongside Bob Backlund.

Pedro Morales was inducted in the WWE Hall Of Fame in 1995 by fellow Puerto Rican wrestler Savio Vega.

Pedro Morales was battling advanced Parkinsons Disease. Morales retired from professional wrestling in 1987.

After his wrestling career Morales continued to work for WWE in an announcing role for Spanish television
