NXT Stars Set To Work RAW, Smackdown, and NXT Brands

This past Monday on RAW, four top NXT stars were called up to the main roster in an interesting fashion.

Current NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano, Ricochet, and Aleister Black all debuted on RAW and Smackdown this week.

The decision to bring these NXT stars to the main roster was made by Vince McMahon last week according to Dave Meltzer at Wrestling Observer Radio. Vince felt he needed a lot more great wrestlers on the main roster.

Vince feels that the current ratings drop was due to lack of high level stars, and bringing a fresh crop of top NXT stars could alleviate some of those losses.

Vince reportedly feels the product is stale, the stars are stale, and they need to make new superstars. Rather than build up stars who are already on the main roster, Vince feel they are already ruined to be built back up.

These new faces on the main roster are now being built into becoming top stars, and being pushed hard right out the gate.

Their was mixed emotions backstage Monday, and Mike Johnson outlined yesterday that some talent were worried about possibly “losing their spot” with the NXT stars being brought up.

A small number of people knew of the call ups, and the talent backstage were surprised to see them show up at RAW.

The current plan is for the latest call ups to work RAW, Smackdown, and continue to work NXT for the foreseeable future.
