MLW hosted their “Intimidation Games” one-hour special this past Friday on beIN SPORTS.

MLW issued the following press release ahead of their Battle Riot event on April 5th in New York.

First three Battle Riot participants revealed for April 5th 40-wrestler event

NEW YORK – Friday night April 5th MLW will present literally the biggest match of the year as 40 wrestlers vie for a world title shot in the 2019 Battle Riot® live on beIN SPORTS at 8 p.m. ET.

MLW today announced Davey Boy Smith Jr., Pentagón Jr. and Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Minoru Tanaka will all compete in the 2019 Battle Riot® at MLW’s April 5th event at the Melrose Ballroom. Both the April 4th and April 5th events will be MLW FUSION TV tapings for beIN SPORTS.

The reigning World Tag Team Champion Davey Boy Smith Jr. has a physical advantage over most of the competitors standing 6’6″. This is Davey Boy Smith Jr.’s second Battle Riot. The enforcer of the Hart Foundation believes it is his destiny to be the World Heavyweight Champion. Winning the Battle Riot® puts him one step closer to fulfilling his quest.

Minoru Tanaka (田中稔), representing Pro Wrestling NOAH, Tanaka enters MLW with an impressive resume including claiming championships in NOAH, New Japan Pro-Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling. Tanaka’s experience and versatility may give the shootboxer a unique advantage over 39 other participants.

What is the Battle Riot®?
A mash-up of a battle royal, royal rumble and anything goes street fight, this super-sized main event will feature 40 wrestlers with new participants entering the ring every 60 seconds.

There will be surprises!

There will be legends!

There will be WTF entries!

And there will be no disqualifications!

Elimination is by pinfall, submission or by throwing an individual over the top rope.

Anything is possible April 5th in a Battle Riot!

What does the winner get?
The winner gets a World Heavyweight Title Shot anywhere, anytime! It could be that night; it could be in 6 months. The challenger has the key to unlock an instant title shot against whoever the champion is!

General Public Doors Open: 6 p.m. with a bell time of 7 p.m. League officials anticipate the card will end at approximately 10:45 p.m.
