WWE Fastlane 2019 – Full Preview

WWE Fastlane 2019 Preview

Some great stories in the WWE emit from Becky Lynch to Seth Rollins, but one more pay-per-view resides before the Showcase of the Immortals.  WWE Fastlane shows from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The kickoff show will start at 6 pm ET and the main show starts an hour later at 7pm ET.

Kickoff Show

The New Day (Big E & Xavier Woods) vs. Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura

Rusev and Nakamura unfortunately are a thrown together tag team at the moment with buzz of both of them departing from the company in the future. The only story included with The New Day is Kofi being replaced for the opportunity at the WWE championship. This seems like promotion for the main card.

Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade

I have my opinions on where they should be on the card as do all of you. WWE seems to be putting better matches on the kickoff show to try and gets more eyes on the product. Despite that, these two have been putting on great 10+ minute matches. A rumored alliance between the two should happen eventually.

Women’s Tag Team Championship

Nia Jax & Tamina vs. Boss N’ Hug Connection (c)

This could be Sasha’s first successful title defence to setup for other credible opponents for Wrestlemania. More matches are foreseeable now that NXT tag teams are now potential opponents for the titles.

RAW Tag Team Championship

Aleister Black & Ricochet vs. Bobby Roode & Chad Gable vs. The Revival (c)

Roode/Gable interfered in a title match between the other two teams in this triple threat. With apparent title redesign and a rumored push of the tag division on RAW, could we see a Revival push or WWE go in a completely different direction?

Smackdown Women’s Championship

Mandy Rose vs. Asuka (c)

Mandy pinned Asuka two weeks ago but it doesn’t seem like the title will change hands here. The question is who is truly ready for Asuka? With Lacey Evans rumored to be in line, Nikki Cross and Sonya Deville are both credible opponents.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship

Shane McMahon & The Miz vs. The Usos (c)

I expect the Usos to retain. I am also interested to see who is next in line for the titles. Given this is The Miz’s hometown and “Mr. Miz” will be at ringside, I am in anticipation to see a heel Shane McMahon to turn on The Miz. This would lead up to a match at Wrestlemania between the two.

The Shield vs. Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin & Bobby Lashley

This is Roman Reigns first match since announcing that his leukemia went into remission and The Shield looks to have one last go before Ambrose departs for the company. This match could also contain buildup for a match with Roman at Wrestlemania.

Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair

If Lynch wins, she is added to the Wrestlemania RAW Women’s Championship match as a triple threat. If Charlotte wins, it stays a singles match. If Becky does lose, she will be shoe-horned in some other way. An awaited heel turn on RAW this week from Rousey has brought a new dynamic to the program and this match itself will be interesting.

WWE Championship

Kevin Owens vs. Daniel Bryan (c)

Vince McMahon took the opportunity from Kofi Kingston weeks ago and replaced him with KO.  But It does appear like Kofi will be getting a title opportunity at Wrestlemania. Since talent is waiting to return with the likes of Harper and Sami Zayn, this match could go many directions to help setup programs in the future.
