Former War Raiders Could Have Had A Different Name
This past Monday on RAW, WWE brought the current NXT Tag Team Champions The War Raiders up from NXT under the name The Viking Experience
According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider, the original name pitched for the duo was “The Bezerkers”. The plans to change to to The Viking Experience happened closer to their debut on RAW. Many fans have been critical of the name change.
WWE did have a wrestler under the name The Bezerker in the 90s played by John Nord. The Bezerker carried a shield and a sword, and was managed by Mr. Fuji.
It’s currently unknown why WWE decided to change The War Raiders name.
