WWE has acquired the long lost match between Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart and Tom Magee.

The WWE Network will be airing a special documentary Holy Grail: The Search for WWE’s Most Infamous Lost Match this Monday following RAW.

VHS tape traders tried in vain to chase down the cassette of Hart vs. Magee for three decades to no avail, but it was recently discovered as part of “Hit Man’s” tape library and is available Monday after Raw on WWE Network. In 1986, Bret “The Hitman” Hart faced a newcomer named Tom Magee at a WWE television taping in Rochester, NY.

According to Bret Hart, Vince McMahon watched the match, and was impressed with MaGee, he wanted to make him the next WWE Champion.

Hart apparently made MaGee look so good during their match, that Vince McMahon thought he found his next superstar.

The footage of the match was reportedly lost, and never to be seen. Dave Meltzer claims he has a copy, but can not find it. Former WWE wrestler Colt Cabana states that he requested to see the match during his time in WWE developmental, but the company could not fulfil his request.

In March, Mary-Kate Anthony, a woman who helped Bret Hart archive his video collection announced she had a copy of the tape.

According to Dave Meltzer, the tape was handed over to WWE, who is allowing it to air at Starrcast II, as make good for pulling Undertaker from the convention.

Conrad Thompson, who runs Starrcast, responded with the following when news broke WWE will be airing it.
