WWE Hall Of Famer Sting’s return to the company may not be happening later this month.
PWInsider Elite originally reported, during Royal Rumble weekend WWE had talks internally to book Sting for the up-coming WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia.
In an update from Mike Johnson, as of Monday night, talks between WWE and Sting have “died down”.
As noted several weeks ago in the Elite section of PWInsider.com, there had been a push for Sting to be used at the 2/27 event, but as of last night, we are told those talks have died down.
The initial report suggested Sting was scheduled to play a major role at the event, possibly returning for one more match.
Now that those talks have died down, it’s unknown if WWE still has plans to try and bring Sting in for another event in the future.
As more details are known, updates will be provided.
