WWE has officially confirmed this Friday’s edition of SmackDown will emanate from the Performance Center in Orlando, FL, rather than Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI.

The move is due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

Fans will not be permitted into the facility, and only essential personnel will be attendance according to the company.

The WWE issued the following statement

“Friday Night SmackDown on March 13 will air live as regularly scheduled and emanate from WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida with only essential personnel in attendance,” WWE said. “The event was originally scheduled in Detroit, Michigan.”

Reports surfaced Wednesday night indicating WWE production staff were sent an e-mail outlining the change.

WWE denied initial reports, stating “”contingency plans in place in the event that upcoming WWE shows are canceled by government officials, civil authorities and/or local venues.”

WWE has yet to make any statement regarding Wrestlemania 36, which as of Thursday is still planned to take place.

The City Of Tampa will be meet again next week to decide the fate of the event.
