Following the release of Zelina Vega, the issue of unions on professional wrestling has been a hot topic.

Gabrielle Carteris, better known as an actress on the hit television show 90210 now serves as the president of SAG-AFTRA (The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists).

Jon Alba of Spectrum Sports reached out to her for a statement regarding unions in pro-wrestling, and was provided the following.

“Wrestling is as much about media as it is sports, and we are going to directly engage with members of this profession to help find ways for them to protect themselves.

“As more people reinvest in unions, and as more working people are harassed by employers who don’t want to protect them, SAG-AFTRA is committed to doing what we can to help professional wrestlers secure the protections they deserve.”

What's worth noting is the statement doesn't just apply to #WWE, but broadly addresses pro wrestlers as well.

I generally shy away from hyperbole, but I don't think it's crazy to suggest this could be the beginning of a major movement in pro wrestling history.

This statement comes after Carteris posted a tweet n response to Zelina Vega’s stance on unions in pro-wrestling.  Carteris offered her support, and provided her an email address to contact her directly.

Hey @Zelina_VegaWWE Thanks for standing strong for labor solidarity. I support you. Please email me [email protected] https://t.co/tYEiiFhB9S
