Former WWE Champion Finishes Quarantine For Upcoming TV Series
CM Punk revealed on his social media pages last week that he was quarantining for ‘work’, with fans speculating that he could make his long awaited return to WWE in the Royal Rumble, however this is not the case.
According to PWInsider, the former WWE Champion was quarantining for an appearance in the upcoming Stars series ‘Heels’ which is currently being filmed in Atlanta.
It was noted that Punk will be returning to the ring as an adversary of lead star Stephen Amell for the show, and has been in Atlanta for several weeks in preparation for the filming.
According to Deadline, “Heels is a story about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small-town pro wrestling. Set in a close-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals, Jack Spade (Amell) and Ace Spade (Ludwig), war over their late father’s legacy. In the ring, somebody must play the good guy (Ludwig) and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel (Amell). But in the real world, those characters can be hard to live up to — or hard to leave behind.”
Stephen Amell posted an image to his Instagram which featured himself and Punk stood in a wrestling ring.
