UFC Fight Night Vegas 79 will take place this Saturday, September 23 with the headlining fight between light heavyweights Rafael Fiziev and Mateusz Gamrot.
Kazakhstan’s sixth-ranked lightweight comes into the fight with a 12-2-0 record, while his Polish opponent, ranked seventh in the division, has a 22-2-0 mark.
Last March, muay Thai specialist Rafael Fiziev saw his streak of six consecutive wins, three of them by knockout, ended after a loss to Justin Gaethje.
Although Ataman does not pose much of an offensive threat in terms of wrestling, he has one of the best takedown defences in his division, which allows him to stand and fight, according to bookies.com.
Meanwhile, Mateusz Gamrot, who is a southpaw who specialises in wrestling, comes into the octagon with five wins in his last six fights, recalls the Superfights site.
‘Gamer’ has a solid jab, which makes him a very complete fighter. His last win came in March 2023 by split decision against Jalin Turner.
At UFC Vegas 79, ‘Ataman’ will look to reach his tenth career finish with his knockout power.
While ‘Gamer’ is looking to catapult himself to the top of the division with another impressive fight.
In addition, the winner will earn a direct pass into the top five of his division.
Fiziev vs Gamrot: Who is more likely to win?
While Saturday’s UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, is expected to see a great all-star bout, Canadian casinos online on MrCasinova are giving the edge to Fiziev over his Polish opponent.
And while the fight will most likely go the distance, bookies.com points out that Fiziev’s elite defence with 90% takedowns, and standing, puts him as the more effective and more powerful and, although Gamrot is a tough fighter who has never been finished, ‘Ataman’ is more likely to come out on top.
Rafael Fiziev (-162) vs. Mateusz Gamrot (+136)
