Former WWE Champion CM Punk has revealed several AEW Stars that have potential and stand out to him.

CM Punk’s last wrestling match was in 2014 prior to parting ways with the company. Since leaving the wrestling world, Punk has starred in several films along with having a run in UFC.

On Friday afternoon, CM Punk held a Q&A session on his Twitter, and during the Q&A The Best In The World replied to a question asking who he would like to face if he was to ever return to the squared circle.

CM Punk recently appeared on Renee Paquette’s ‘Oral Sessions’ podcast where he discussed what it would take for him to return to wrestling, mentioning how it would take a ‘stupid amount of money’ but also an interesting and compelling storyline.

Punk named five AEW Stars he believes have potential. The first of which was Team Taz member Will Hobbs. Another was current TNT Champion Darby Allin, who recently formed an alliance with Sting. The third of which was Brian Pillman Jr. Punk named another Team Taz and former NWA TV Champion in Ricky Starks. The last wrestler he named was Jurassic Express’ Jungle Boy.

CM Punk has previously enquired on a possible run in AEW, with Cody Rhodes confirming to Alex McCarthy of TalkSport last year that Punk had asked for a ‘great amount of money’.

“As far as the CM Punk negotiations go, everyone heard the famous ‘he got a text from us’. Yeah, of course there were negotiations and he did ask for a great amount of money and Punk is worth a great deal of money. But you also have to ? and this isn’t speaking to Punk specifically, this is speaking to recruitment and what we’ve learned in wrestling in general ? a lot of people think ‘these wrestlers are running this wrestling company.’”
