Cody Rhodes spoke today on a media call ahead of AEW Full Gear tomorrow night in Baltimore, MD.

During the call, a question came up asking about a secondary or “midcard” title being added to All Elite Wrestling. Cody stated, “It’s very possible in the next month or so there will be a prize of some sorts for the guys rising through the ranks, I would never consider it a midcard title.”

Historically the term “midcard” is associated as something that is not as important as the main event, and Cody hopes to make that a change in AEW. He wants to remove the stigma associated with talent who are moving through the ranks of a company.

During the interview Cody mentioned how he wants the AEW Women’s and Tag Team Titles to hold the same prestige as the AEW World Championship.
