All Elite Wrestling has pulled Joey Janela from tonight’s Dynamite show following concerns over a possible COVID-19 exposure.

AEW issued the following statement ahead of tonight’s show.

AEW and Joey Janela learned today that he had exposure to a known COVID-19 positive person at an independent show. For that reason we are pulling him until such time as he is cleared to return consistent with our protocols.

Joey Janela’s last match was at a GCW event on 10/17 against AJ Gray. Gray states he tested positive for the virus on 10/19, and previously had three negative tests.

GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale noted to Fightful, all talent who worked the 10/17 event tested negative prior to the show.

He reacted to AEW’s statement with the following tweet.

Here we go again…. it wasn’t known cause I wasn’t positive until the test I took MONDAY….

Joey Janela was scheduled to face Kenny Omega the World Title Eliminator Tournament during Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite, he has since been replaced by Sonny Kiss.
