Jon Moxley has been forced to pull out of All Elite Wrestling’s All Out pay-per-view due to a serious infection which requires surgery.

Moxley took to Twitter to announce a serious case of MRSA has returned to his elbow, which will require surgery. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, also known as MRSA is a type of staphylococcus or “staph” infection that is resistant to many antibiotics. Moxley has dealt with this infection in the past, which nearly killed him.

During his WWE hiatus in 2018, Moxley was diagnosed with MRSA, and opened up about almost dying due to the infection. In speaking to the The Monitor, Moxley stated “I ended up having two different surgeries. I had this MRSA, Staph infection. I nearly died. I was in the hospital for a week plugged up to this antibiotic drip thing, and I was on all these antibiotics for months that make you puke and crap your pants.”

Jon Moxley will be undergoing surgery to remove a bursa sac. He believes he will have a quick recovery, and be able to return to AEW and work their TNT shows.

All Elite Wrestling was quick to announce a replacement for Jon Moxley at the All Out pay-per-view. PAC will be making his AEW debut and face Kenny Omega at the event in Chicago on 8/31.
