Former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin is set to become a free agent this month. Her two-year WWE non-compete clause expires in October, and AEW has already talked about bringing her in.

According to Fightful Select, AEW has internally discussed bringing Irvin into the company on multiple occasions for an on-screen role. The report says an immediate appearance on Dynamite is not expected, and any arrival would likely happen further down the road.

Irvin reacted to the report herself on X. She wrote, “they internally discussed me?!” with a smiling emoji.

Irvin was the ring announcer for Raw before her departure from WWE. In early 2025, she made what was described as a guarantee that she would return to wrestling at some point. That comment has followed her since, and it is part of why her free agency has drawn attention.

What is confirmed is that her non-compete is expiring and that AEW has discussed her internally. What is not confirmed is a deal, a role, or a start date. Fightful’s report does not say talks have moved past the discussion stage, and AEW has not announced anything.

If Irvin does join AEW, she would be one of the most recognizable announcing voices to change companies in recent years. For now, that remains a possibility, not a done deal.
