Sammy Guevara Makes AEW Return On Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling star Sammy Guevara made his return to the company following a suspension for derogatory comments made towards WWE star Sasha Banks in 2016.

During the main event with Chris Jericho and Jake Hager facing Jungle Boy and Luchasauraus, a masked wrestler Serpentico jumped the barricade. He hit Luchasaurus in the back with Jericho’s baseball bat, allowing Jericho to execute to codebreaker for the pin. Following the match he took off his mask and revealed his true identity as Sammy Guevara.

The AEW announce team then revealed a 10-man tag team match on next week’s Dynamite, with The Inner Circle facing Orange Cassidy, Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, and The Best Friends.

Sammy Guevara was suspended by AEW on June 22 after audio resurfaced from a 2016 podcast in which Guevara made a comment about wanting to “rape” Sasha Banks.

The company issued a statement indicating Guevara would be sent to sensitivity training.

Sammy Guevara issued an apology to Sasha Banks, indicating he “made stupid, inappropriate and extremely offensive comments” in his past.

Shortly after, Banks issued a statement revealing she spoke with Guevara, and does not condone that type of behaviour.
