Former LAX Were Pursued By WWE Prior To Signing With AEW

Santana and Ortiz were some of the hottest free agents in pro-wrestling prior to signing a deal with All Elite Wrestling.

Chris Van Vliet spoke to the the duo, and they revealed how aggressive WWE was in hopes of signing them.

WWE made the pair a similar deal to what they offered The Young Bucks, a blank slate, with unlimited options on how they would be used.

‘Write your own ticket and we’ll make it happen.” Santana stated.

While the pair was flattered that WWE would pursue them, they wanted to be dads and know they wouldn’t have to be on the road constantly. Their current deal with AEW allows them to have limited dates due to one weekly show and occasional PPV appearance.

“They were offering us NXT and then going to TV, once we would have gone to TV, we’re on the road 250-300 days a year.”

WWE historically has talent move to Orlando once they sign deals for NXT. The company would have allowed the pair to continue to reside in New York if they chose to sign a deal.

Negotiations got more aggressive once WWE found out AEW’s interest in the team.
