AEW President Tony Khan reportedly left meetings with Skydance executives extremely happy.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Khan met with Skydance executives in Los Angeles. Meltzer reported the news on Wrestling Observer Radio, and said Khan came out of the meetings in high spirits.

“I don’t know any of the details yet, but I do know that [Khan] came out of the meetings extremely happy. Much happier than he’s been,” Meltzer said. “He’s always been happy about this relationship. He’s always been beaming about it since day one, but he definitely came out of these meetings the happiest he’s been.”

The meetings come after Paramount Skydance completed its merger with Warner Bros. Discovery earlier this month. The combined company is now called Skydance, with David Ellison serving as chairman and CEO. Khan has previously said Ellison supports AEW and believes the company will benefit after the merger.

There has been concern among fans about what the merger means for AEW’s television future. AEW airs Dynamite and Collision on TBS and HBO Max, and the merger put those shows under a new corporate structure. Khan spoke positively about the merger on its first day, saying he loved working for Skydance.

Meltzer did not share any details about what was discussed in the Los Angeles meetings. He also noted that Skydance has already made two wrestling related moves, but said neither of them would look positive. He did not present those moves as a sign of trouble for AEW itself.

Meltzer also clarified an earlier report about WOW, Women of Wrestling. He said the show will get another season, but it will not be syndicated. A Roku channel that aired WOW and NWA 24/7 has been canceled.

What is confirmed is that Khan met with Skydance executives and Meltzer’s report about his mood after the meetings. What is not confirmed is any detail of the talks, or what they mean for AEW’s next television deal.
