WWE RAW Recap and Review 12/17/18

Promo to open show

Vince McMahon opens the show talking about how change is needed due to the stagnant ratings on Raw then the other McMahon family followed suit in coming out each saying their piece. The most notable portion of the promo had Stephanie saying that there will be a women’s gauntlet match for the #1 contenders spot against Rhonda Rousey which drew cheers from the crowd.

Baron Corbin Beatdown

Baron Corbin came out during the McMahon promo saying he agreed with the changes while getting soundly booed and proceeded to get ran down verbally by the McMahon family. Corbin begs and pleads to stay in charge but is given a match against Kurt Angle and it’s turned into a handicap match with Roode, Gable, and Crews coming out to beat Corbin down.

Finn Balor vs. Dolph Ziggler

Fairly short match with Finn being inserted in the feud with Galloway and Ziggler and due to interference by Galloway Finn wins. Not much of a match but I hope the payoff comes soon from this feud.pinfall

Finn Balor wins via DQ

Dean Anbrose vs. Tyler Breeze

Match starts with Ambrose running down Rollins from the night before giving a standard heel promo when Breeze comes out to start the match. Ambrose wins and retains the title while after the match Ambrose gets his just desserts by getting beat by Rollins disguised as one of his bodyguards.spot

Dean Anbrose retains via pinfall

Coming Soon

We get a promo saying the following are coming to either Raw or Smackdown in the near future. The superstars coming are EC3, Lacy Evans, Nikki Cross, and Lars Sullivan, and surprisingly enough Heavy Machinery too.

Returning stars

Promos for both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn airs so hopefully they receive their proper pops once they come back. Just a personal wish of mine.

Elias promo

All you need to know is that Lashley hits Elias with the guitar. The promo really had no pop to it. Just too Boring in my opinion.

The Revival vs. Lucha House party vs. AOP

Match saw the revival finally getting their due in what was a really forgettable match but like I said the biggest thing I liked was that the revival finally getting something good happening to them by getting a #1 contenders shot against Roode and Gable. I can’t say enough how happy I am for those guys to get back on the right track.

The Revival wins #1 Contenders spot

Women’s Gauntlet Match for #1 Contenders spot

In what seems like a welcomed change to the stagnant  pace that raw was going at it’s nice to see the women showcase their skills in which we saw Natalya win and continue her hot streak and now gets the chance to face Rhonda Rousey for her title.

Natalya wins Gauntlet match
