Details Why Black Was Pulled From Saudi Event

A number of WWE stars will not be making the trip to Saudi Arabia for Super ShowDown, including Smackdown star Aleister Black.

Post Wrestling broke the news that Black would not be attending the event, and Dave Meltzer provided some additional details on his exclusion from the pay-per-view.

“Black not going, like with Zayn, was not his decision,” said Meltzer. “We were told it had to do with tattoos he had that were religious in nature. It wasn’t made clear where the Saudis told WWE he couldn’t appear due to those tattoos, or WWE made the decision thinking the tattoos would offend the hosts”

Sami Zayn, Daniel Bryan, and Kevin Owens will also not be making the trip.”With Owens, company sources have said he was asked by his family not to go” Meltzer stated. Many speculated it was due to his close relationship with Sami Zayn, and him not being able to go, but that has not been confirmed.

WWE Super ShowDown will be held on June 7 from the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
