Independent star Alex Zayne has announced his final independent appearance will be on 11/8 at GCW’s “So Much Fun” event.

Following his announcement, Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting WWE has had interest in Zayne. WWE sources did confirm as of a few weeks ago there was interest in him, but there is confirmation whether he signed a deal.

It was also noted, Zayne impressed some people in New Japan Pro-Wrestling from his appearances on NJPW Strong.

In an interview with Wrestling Inc. this past summer, Zayne spoke on working with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Anything at all is great right now much less with something as prestigious as New Japan. So it’s just great to get to work with them, and I think we’ll see quite a bit more of me around on the New Japan U.S. side of things, until of course, things open up. That’s where I see it headed right now.”

Zayne didn’t rule out the possibility of working with Ring Of Honor, revealing he was still having talks with them in August.

“I’m definitely still in talks with them as far as doing some stuff and just working some things. No dates or anything confirmed, but I wouldn’t be shocked if you see me back in a Ring of Honor because I’m ready, and hopefully they’re ready. I know they’re just getting in the swing of things, getting getting back to it.”
