Eric Bischoff made his return to TNT after 21 years, appearing as a special guest moderator for the debate between Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy during the Super Wednesday edition of AEW Dynamite.

During his latest edition of Saturday Night Special, Chris Jericho revealed the booking process behind the segment, and another name that brought up as a possible moderator for the segment.

“When I had the idea for the debate, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with it, so I asked Tony Khan and Cody some ideas for questions, which they gave me.” Jericho stated. “Cody had the idea of throwing in the scientific question, that Orange wouldn’t answer”

Jericho revealed he was behind booking the segment, and when it came to pick who would moderate the debate, Cody suggested former WCW announcer Mike Tenay. Chris Jericho said his choice was Eric Bischoff, who ultimately was given the gig.

“I said ‘Who can we use as a moderator?’, and Cody suggested Mike Tenay, and then I suggested Bischoff, and that was it. I worked with Orange on his promo, and he nailed it, f*ck it was a great promo!”.

Eric Bischoff’s appearance with AEW was a one-time deal, with no further bookings as of this time.
