NXT Stars To Be Released In New Year?

WWE released five Superstars today from their contract, including Sin Cara, Luke Harper, Konnor and Viktor of The Ascension.

Following the the releases, Fightful reached out to different talent backstage to get their thoughts on the matter.

One person in the company joked, and stated, “It’s either a coincidence or next level f–king with The Revival that a bunch of people get granted their releases, but they can’t release them because they have a title match on next weekend’s show.”

Another person on the roster said they were happy for the talent who were able to be released, stating they believe they all asked for it.

Fightful also reports, no update on Mike Kanellis, who has also asked for his release, but has yet to be granted it.

Members of the NXT roster have stated that word going around backstage indicate if NXT talent are going to be released, it could be in January or early February.

It’s unknown if any NXT talent have asked for their release, other than Oney Lorcan, who technically is under the NXT banner working for 205 Live. Lorcan indicated recently he signed a new multi-year deal with the company.
