Last night’s WWE Hell In A Cell match between Seth Rollins and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt ended with a lot of confusion.
According to Fightful Select, several people backstage at last night’s pay-per-view criticized how the match ended.
Vince McMahon was the mastermind behind the finish, and his “sight and vision played out exactly how he wanted it” according to the report.
According to one story, Vince McMahon initially laughed off the reaction the crowd gave following the match. When pressed for context on that story, one high level source stated Vince McMahon is not oblivious, and he took it seriously.
The high level source stated “those people have agendas or are trying to protect themselves from their involvement.” Speaking on the original source that stated Vince initially laughed at the crowd reaction.
One wrestler told Fightful that Vince McMahon has insinuated some talent are “too pro wrestling”. No context was given on that statement, but that wrestler did go as far as the call what happened last night an “embarrassment”, and sided with fans stated they have a right to be upset, calling it “maybe the worst they’ve ever insulted fans intelligence.”
Another talent stated, “none of us even know what to say”, while another wrestler who has been positive of WWE in discussions they’ve had with Fightful was also in the same boat as everyone else, calling the ending of the match “bizarre”.
Following the finish of the match, no official result was known as the broadcast went off air. WWE later reported that “match stoppage” was the official result.
