SummerSlam Location Yet To Be Announced

WWE is hopeful they can present their SummerSlam pay-per-view outside of the Performance Center later this month.

Various reports have emerged over the last month about the possibility of hosting the summer event outdoors. These reports include the possibility of hosting the event at a beach, on a boat, and in a location in a Northeastern state.

Dave Meltzer recently reported WWE’s interest in hosting the show in Atlantic City, NJ. Vince McMahon really wants fans in attendance at this year’s event, but it’s unknown if they can move forward with those plans.

Fightful Select (subscription required) obtained some backstage reaction to the reports from both talent and those in production. According to the report, talent they have spoken to “aren’t generally being told of the plans or attempts unless they press the matter”.

As rumored, WWE is looking at places to possibly run in the New York area, and even on the coast of Florida.

As of last week, several members of the WWE production team have heard “no discussions” on various reports, and have learned about possible plans from online reports.
