Asuka vs. Becky Lynch Not Happening At Royal Rumble

The WWE is changing their plans to have Becky Lynch vs. Asuka for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Royal Rumble.

The WWE aired a video package promoting the match during their Main Event program, and that advertisement may have prematurely aired.

Paige took to Twitter today to tie the mistake in a storyline that she was behind the match, but when she was relieved of her duties as Smackdown GM that match was taken away.

The decision to pull the match may have been due to the company shifting creative plans for the two. At one point Becky Lynch was scheduled to take on Nia Jax, no word if those plans will come to fruition.
