WWE is known for making changes to their Superstar names, and Buddy Murphy seems to be the latest talent to receive a reiteration
Going forward, Buddy Murphy will simply be known as “Murphy”.
According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, the reason behind the name change is due to him being aligned with Seth Rollins new “Monday Night Messiah” persona. WWE officials believe the name “Buddy” doesn’t align with being a disciple.
Murphy joins a long list of WWE Superstars who have lost portions of their name at one point or another, including Rusev, Mustafa Ali, Apollo Crews, and Andrade.
