Chris Jericho is capitalizing off the Wednesday Night Wars with his latest catchphrase ‘DEMOGOD’.

Jericho filed trademark for the term ‘DEMOGOD’ on July 27 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He used the services of “gimmick attorney’ Michael E. Dockins, who is the goto lawyer for trademark filings in the wrestling world.

The trademarks were filed under two classes, one for merchandise, and the other entertainment services.

International Class 025:  Bandanas; Hats; Pants; Shirts; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts
Intent to Use: The applicant has a bona fide intention, and is entitled, to use the mark in commerce on or in connection with the identified goods/services. 

International Class 041:  Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestler and sports entertainer in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes
Intent to Use: The applicant has a bona fide intention, and is entitled, to use the mark in commerce on or in connection with the identified goods/services.  

During last month’s Fight For The Fallen edition of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho cut a promo explaining how continues to win the ratings war, proclaiming himself the ‘DEMOGOD’. Following the promo, AEW released a t-shirt with the phrase on Pro Wrestling Tees.
