AEW And NJPW Form Partnership

NJPW star Kenta shocked fans last night when he showed up in the main event of last night’s AEW Dynamite, hitting Jon Moxley with a GTS ahead of their IWGP US Championship match at NJPW New Beginning USA. It now seems like there is a working relationship between the two companies.

Dave Meltzer noted on the Wrestling Observer that ‘the deal is done’ and there is now a working relationship between the two companies.

“The deal is done and the two sides have a working relationship. The pandemic sped it up, but it also holds it back at the same time. You know, the only way to get Moxley was to make a deal. When AEW first started, New Japan had no clue has successful they’d be. There are a lot of things about it.”

Following last night’s Dynamite, AEW released a video to their Twitter which saw Kenny Omega politely approach Kenta, who replied with “Shut the f*** up. I’m not your friend. I’m here to beat Jon Moxley.” Omega then demanded Tony Khan to make a non-sanctioned match which would see him team up with Kenta to take on Jon Moxley and Lance Archer next week.
