Possible Backstage Changes At Impact Wrestling

Don Callis may have been given reduced duties at IMPACT Wrestling.

Over the weekend, a Reddit thread emerged noting Callis is no longer listed as Executive VP of Impact Wrestling on Anthem Entertainment’s corporate website.

This change caused many to speculate whether Callis’ responsibilities in the company have been reduced, or if this is a signal for his departure.

When looking at an archived version of the Anthem website, Callis was still listed as Executive VP as early as January.

Dave Meltzer spoke on the possible changes during the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, noting many backstage at Impact have hinted he may end up as a full-time manager at All Elite Wrestling.

“On the website, Don Callis’ name has been removed as an executive, and I’ve asked around, and I haven’t got anything, hopefully, tomorrow we will have more. Is that an angle? I don’t know..is it legit? Many people who are close to Impact, and even Impact have been kind of hinting to me that they figure that Don Callis is going to wind up as a full-timer in AEW as Kenny Omega’s manager, and that does make sense”

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select (subscription required) spoke to talent in Impact who believe Callis would continue performing on-screen for IMPACT Wrestling. The report noted Callis’ duties have been reduced, with Scott D’Amore “leading the charge”.

“We’re working to find out exactly what the change it. We’ve been told that Callis of late had seemingly reduced duties as it pertains to IMPACT, with Scott D’Amore leading the charge in the company.”

Don Callis has been appearing on both IMPACT and AEW programming under “The Invisible Hand” moniker, managing Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers.

Callis was given the role of Executive Vice President of IMPACT in 2017. He, Scott D’Amore, and Ed Nordholm were given the responsibility of “developing the creative direction for the company and managing the execution of the company’s business plan”.
