Update: 5:39PM ET – Impact Wrestling has confirmed the news, and issued the following statement.

IMPACT Wrestling has come to terms on the release of Kevin Kesar (Killer Kross).

Killer Kross Is Now A Free Agent

Killer Kross is no longer bound by an IMPACT Wrestling contract.

According to Fightful Select, Killer Kross is now officially a free agent. Fightful added, “His contract expired, and the deal was not rolled over for the additional year.”

Earlier this year, Kross and his girlfriend Scarlett Bordeaux both asked their release from the company. Bordeaux was granted it, while Kross was denied.

Reports surfaced in July indicating that Kross refused to blade during his I Quit Match against Eddie Edwards at Slammiversary. The company reportedly did not have 3rd party medical personal, as well as pre-match testing, which is one of the reasons Kross refused to partake in the angle. This was Kross’ last match with the promotion, despite still being under contract.

Issues between Kross and IMPACT Wrestling began in 2018 due to merchandising. IMPACT reportedly pressured AAA not to book Kross for a scheduled Lucha Invades NY event, which ultimately was cancelled.

Kross has been vocal about his issues with the company, and stated in a SportingNews interview that he did not want to go into litigation against IMPACT, but he does have an attorney involved, in hopes to settle the situation.

It’s unknown if Kross has been in contact with any other promotions since his release.

Further details on his release are still pending, and will be added to this story as they become known.
