Marty Scurll Arrives In NWA

One of the biggest free agents in the pro-wrestling world has arrived in NWA.

At the closing moments of NWA’s “Into The Fire” pay-per-view, the lights went out, and a familiar theme song began to play inside the NWA studios. “The Villain” Marty Scurll made his way to the ring, and went face to face with NWA World Champion Nick Aldis.

Scurll’s Ring Of Honor contract expired on 11/30, but agreed to work additional dates, including last night’s Final Battle pay-per-view. Scurll is advertised to work Sunday night’s ROH tapings in Philadelphia, teaming with ROH Champion PCO vs. Dan Maff and Jeff Cobb.

Late this week, Dave Meltzer noted in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Scurll has agreed to a secret appearance with an independent promotion. This appearance may have been tonight’s NWA pay-per-view.

It’s unclear what’s next for Scurll, but based on tonight’s face to face, it does seem like Scurll will face Nick Aldis in the future, possibly at NWA’s next pay-per-view on 1/24.

As far as long-term plans, all signs point to All Elite Wrestling, but no deal has been confirmed at this time.
