Kacy Catanzaro Speaks On Recent Criticism
NXT Superstar Kacy Catanzaro was criticized last week for visiting a restaurant with friends amid the pandemic. This wasn’t the first time fans slammed Kacy during the pandemic, as she celebrated her birthday and New Year’s Eve with friends from several other wrestling companies.
Catanzaro has addressed the criticism over the massless gathering last week via her Twitter, where she stated that her and her group wore masks whenever they weren’t eating or drinking and that she gets tested once or twice per week with NXT.
“Here where I live in Florida restaurants are open to a certain capacity. We wear a mask when we go in when we leave, really anytime when we aren’t sitting down at our table but when we are sitting down to eat or drink we are allowed to take our masks off and I know that that’s the part that people saw that people were upset with.’
‘I’m sorry for anybody that is upset and I understand your concern and I want you to know that I do care about the safety of others around me and myself and I follow all of the protocols. Luckily for me with work we get tested at least once a week if not twice sometimes and I carry my hand sanitiser with me everywhere. Everywhere that we have to I wear my mask. I’m sorry that this moment made people think otherwise but I just want you all to know that I hear you I appreciate the concern I’m looking out for the safety of others around me as well as trying to take care of myself the best I can and I wish the best for everybody else.”

This is not the first time Catanzaro faced criticism over gathering during the pandemic. Last month, she faced backlash over a a birthday celebration.
Kacy Catanzaro’s last televised match was on the February 3rd edition of NXT when herself and Kayden Carter were knocked out of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic by Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai.
