WWE Releases Mojo Rawley

Mojo Rawley is the latest WWE wrestler to be released from the company.

Earlier today, WWE released 9 wrestlers, including Samoa Joe, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Mickie James, Chelsea Green, Tucker, Kalisto, Bo Dallas and Wesley Blake. This evening, they added Mojo Rawley to the list of released talent.

Rawley signed with WWE in 2012, debuting on NXT television in 2013. He was called up to the main roster in 2016, and won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal the following year at Wrestlemania 37.

He also held the WWE 24/7 Championship seven times. His last match was on the June 6, 2020, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, losing to Chad Gable.

WWE has faced issues trademarking Mojo Rawley’s name. The company filed an application to trademark the name in January 2020 but was faced with issues due to a lack of written consent. The USPTO issued a notice to WWE on October 23, 2020, seeking written consent from Dean Muhtadi (Mojo Rawley’s real name). WWE has until April 23, 2021, to submit the consent, or be subject to losing the trademark.

Earlier today, we took a look at other released WWE talent who can or cannot use their trademarked name going forward.
