Despite committing to a fourth and final season, Netflix has canceled the highly popular GLOW series.

As first reported by Deadline, the series was three weeks into filming the final season when production was shutdown due to COVID-19.

Netflix issued the following statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

“We’ve made the difficult decision not to do a fourth season of GLOW due to COVID, which makes shooting this physically intimate show with its large ensemble cast especially challenging,”

“We are so grateful to creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, Jenji Kohan and all the writers, cast and crew for sharing this story about the incredible women of GLOW with us and the world.”

The series was based around characters and gimmicks of the 1980s syndicated wrestling show Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.

Several pro-wrestlers made cameos during the last three seasons including, John Morrison, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Alex Riley, Frankie Kazarian, and Christopher Daniels.
