New Japan Pro Wrestling is reportedly scrapping plans to air footage of Marty Scurll’s recent appearance at the NJPW strong tapings.

According to Super J-Cast, Marty Scurll will not be appearing on any New Japan programming for the foreseeable future, including NJPW strong.

Fightful Select (subscription required) provided more details, revealing New Japan Pro-Wrestling “responded to the online response to the news of his involvement, but there were several members of the roster who weren’t thrilled with his involvement either”.

Multiple people who worked the tapings state if they were made aware of Scrull’s appearance, they would have informed NJPW they didn’t want to work the tapings. No incidents were reported following his appearance.

Scurll reportedly had involvement in a post-match angle with Rocky Romero according to Emily Pratt of FanByte. She stated there was “no extra secrecy about Scurll’s involvement”.

Prior to these tapings, Scurll last appeared for NJPW in June 2019 for the Best Of Super Juniors Tournament.

He “mutually parted ways” with ROH last year, following allegations made against him during the Speaking Out movement last summer.
