New Japan Pro-Wrestling will be unifying its IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Championships.

NJPW chairman Naoki Sugabayashi confirmed the news to Tokyo Sports, revealing the title will now be known as the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
