Prior to last night’s SmackDown Live many changes were made by Vince McMahon.

It was revealed yesterday that Vince McMahon scrapped the entire script and rewrote the show hours before going on-air.

The biggest storyline coming out of SmackDown is the Roman Reigns “Mystery Attacker” angle. The original plan was to reveal Daniel Bryan as the attacker, and have him face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. This plan may have been dropped.

According to PWInsider, the word from backstage last night was the match between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan at Summerslam will likely not happen in order to let the storyline continue to play out.

At the end of SmackDown, Buddy Murphy was confronted by Roman Reigns, and stated Rowan was responsible for the attacks on Roman Reigns. The person(s) behind the attack is not 100% set in stone as other ideas have been pitched to continue to the storyline.

Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan are expected to work matches following SummerSlam on several live events.

It’s unknown at this point if WWE will eventually reveal Daniel Bryan as the mastermind behind the attack, or go in another direction.
