WWE taped two episodes of Monday Night RAW on August 3, the first episode aired that night, while the second episode will air on August 10.

Dave Meltzer provided some insight on Vince McMahon’s thought process going into the tapings, including a possible spoiler taped for the August 10 episode.

The atmosphere at the tapings was reportedly more chaotic than usual, due to the face the previous episode did poor in the ratings, and Vince McMahon being grilled by investors.

Vince McMahon reportedly had two ideas going into the show, one being the RAW Underground launch with Shane McMahon, and the other being an angle involving Ric Flair and Randy Orton. He was not committing to any outside ideas other than those two.

Randy Orton is scheduled to face Kevin Owens during the August 10 episode, which has already been taped. Ric Flair and Randy Orton are scheduled to have some sort of angle, with details unknown.

Meltzer noted during Wrestling Observer Radio, “The Ric Flair thing was already taped, unless they canned it. The last word when they were doing the taping that afternoon was the Ric Flair angle was still on the show. The two things that were there was the Shane McMahon thing and the Ric Flair-Randy Orton angle. Then they threw that show together at the end”

While no details on what occured during the angle have been revealed, some speculate it could be Orton turning on Flair, writing him off television, but that has not been confirmed.
