Jerry ‘The King” Lawler has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Hardemen County following the death of his son Brian Christopher Lawler.

Jerry Lawler is seeking $3 million in compensatory damages, as well as punitive damages for a sum to be determined by a jury. The lawsuit claims “numerous failures of the county and its employees that resulted in the wrongful death of his son.”

During a press conference Monday afternoon, Lawler’s lawyer Jeffery Rosenblum is seeking a court order requiring the jail make “immediate changes” so no more suicides under solitary confinement can occur.

Brian Christopher was found hanging in  his cell one year ago. Video surveillance equipment was not in working order to verify what exactly occurred.
