Christian officially returned to in-ring competition during Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view, his first official match since 2014.

He had a small in-ring segment last year during RAW, in an ‘Unsanctioned Match’ against Randy Orton with very minimal contact. Christian was medically disqualified from competing due to multiple concussions, retiring in 2014.

According to PWInsider, Christian was medically cleared a week before the Royal Rumble following a visit to medical professionals in Pittsburgh. He kept his appearance a secret from everyone backstage, with only a very small amount of people aware ahead of time.

Christian is expected to be working a part-time schedule, but as of 4 p.m ET Monday is not scheduled to be part of tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW.
